Le Jardin is a unique mix - situated in the midst of the medieval village of Haut de Cagnes, it at the same time offers the enchantment of the village, and the comfort and relaxation of a lovely, lush garden with a very special swimming-pool. It is shaped like a heart, cut in two!
Coming to the village of Haut de Cagnes is like walking back a couple of hundred years in time. The castle dates from the 13th century, and so do some of the oldest houses. Unlike many other villages, there are no tourist shops. Instead, there are around 15 restaurants. Two of them have been awarded a star in the Michelin Guide. There is also a jazz club.
The house itself has been completely redecorated in Provencal style by the owner, who has a past in the antiques/brocante business. Le Jardin is not a luxury home, but a very cosy and comfortable one.
The master bedroom of the house, with a queen size bed (160 cm) has room for an extra bed. There are also two smaller bedrooms, each with a 140 cm bed. On the garden floor, next to the living-room, there is a windowless room with a queen size bed. There is one full bathroom, and also an extra toilet in the hall. Altogether, the house can sleep 8 people - or more.
The glass doors of the spacious living-room, with an open fire-place, open onto the garden. Next to them, there is another pair of glass doors, opening onto a staircase leading down into the swimming-pool. In the stone wall, on the straight side of the pool, there is a dug out cave, with benches and a table.
The beautiful garden is a real haven of peace (even though you can sometimes hear the village life). From the green lawn, with a barbecue, you catch a glimpse of the Grimaldi castle of Haut de Cagnes.

Haut de Cagnes, a medieval hilltop village between Nice and Antibes. 12 min to the airport. 20 min walk to the beach. 5 min to grocery stores, banks and post office in Cagnes sur Mer. 10 min to St Paul de Vence and the medieval city of Vence. 20 min by car to Nice, Cannes and Antibes. 30 min to Grasse and Italy. 17 golf courses within a 30 min drive. 1,5 hours drive to skiing.
